Permaquik PQ 6100
Modified Bitumen Waterproofing
Description
Permaquik PQ 6100 is a blend of both synthetic rubber and natural rubber in a specially selected compatible bitumen. This blend produces a product that gives excellent waterproofing performance with toughness, flexibility, adhesion with a very wide temperature acceptance beyond conventional bitumens and asphalts levels.

Uses Permaquik PQ 6100 where combined with other components of Permaquik and Radmat range present various options for waterproofing systems.

(1) Samples 6 mm thick on 300 mm by 300 mm concrete slabs. Loads of 5 kg 10 kg and 20 kg were applied to 150 mm by 150 mm steel plates placed on the samples at 23°C, and indentation with time was recorded.
Preparation PQ 6100 is heated in an oil-jacketed roofing bitumen kettle or melter equipped with means of mechanical agitation and temperature indicators for both oil and melt.
Packaging PQ 6100 is supplied in 22.0 kg cakes in a large metal drum containing 10 x 22.7 kg cakes double wrapped in polythene.
Procedure
a. Remove outer wrapping of polythene and place in kettle/melter. 
b. Start mechanized circulation and continue whilst heating to avoid localised overheating.
c. Add more materials as required.
d. Application temperature : 180°C – 205°C
e. DO NOT HEAT ABOVE 210°C
Installation Apply to approved surface in two-coat application by flat bladed squeegee reinforced with PQ 2016 polythene fabric. Nominal thickness 6.0 mm in two coats followed by application of required protection sheet.
